Howdy!

Today we pushed an update for the Windows version of Snapshot on Steam.

Updates included:
- A few fixes, which will hopefully resolve a collection of errors on startup relating to OpenGL or Cg
- Fixed a crash when finishing a level with a photo of PIC
- Fixes for when a few achievements were being awarded

In addition, we also created a version of Snapshot that uses DirectX for rendering instead of OpenGL. After updating, if you are still getting errors, you're encouraged to try this version. More information, including how to get this version, can be found here on the Steam Community.

The Mac and Linux versions, as well as the version on GOG, should all be getting updates soon as well.

As always, if anyone has any questions, click that "Contact" link at the top of the page to chat with us live, or feel free to send us an email.

Snapshot is now available on GOG.com, as well as right here on our site via the Humble Store. Purchasing the game through the Humble Store will also provide you with a Steam key to activate the game on Steam if you prefer.

Both the copies of the game from GOG and Humble Store are completely DRM free and are available for both Mac and Windows. Buying the game through GOG will also get you three songs from the soundtrack completely free.

Also news on the Playstation 3 and PSVita versions of the game is coming! We don't want to say anything though until we are 100% confirmed as to what the plans are, but I can say that we are still well on our way to debuting Snapshot on the PS3 and Vita platforms in the near future. Just hold on a little bit longer!

Hey everyone! I have some news hot off the presses for you!

Image

Snapshot is now available for Mac OSX! Right now you can get it on Steam for both PC and Mac, and if you already bought the Steam version then the Mac version is now available to you for no additional charge! But wait, there's more!

Image

We're currently running a 50% DISCOUNT on Snapshot for a week to celebrate the release! So make sure you scoop it up on Steam while you can! Oh and we've heard your feedback on achievements so we went ahead and added over 30 achievements to the game that work on both versions. Also please note that we're still in the process of adding native controller support to the Mac version, so right now you can only play with the mouse and keyboard on the Mac OSX version. A big thanks goes out to David Whitlark who helped us out on the Mac version!

In other news we are still rolling forward on the PSVita and PS3 versions of the game. For those of you waiting for those, thank you so much for your patience! These things take time, and we're going as fast as we can on it. We'll be sure to let you guys know more details as soon as we know.

One LAST THING: A big shout out to the handful of people from the SpeedRunsLive community that have done runs of Snapshot. You guys are amazing!

This past weekend I pushed out an update for Snapshot, which did a couple things:
- Fixed a bug where the game would crash on startup
- Fixed a bug that caused gallery photos to not save
- If Snapshot detected that it was running slow, it would cap the framerate down to 20fps. This limit was removed because it made the game too unplayable. It will still set caps at 30fps and 60fps (which is the default).

Hopefully this should fix most of the issues that were preventing some people from playing the game. If you're still having issues, make sure to email help@retroaffect.com

In future updates, we should be bringing you some Steam achievements. Also stay tuned for Mac and Linux versions of the game. Additionally, we should have launch dates for the Playstation Vita and PS3 versions of Snapshot sometime over the next month or so.

That's right!

The PC version of Snapshot is now on sale through Steam!

We're also launching the AMAZING soundtrack composed by WiL Whitlark. It has over 100 minutes of original music written for Snapshot, and includes quite a few tracks that didn't even make it into the game and have never been heard before.

On Steam, you'll find Snapshot and the soundtrack. This week they'll be 10% off as a special thanks for everyone who's been waiting so long to get their hands on the game!

We hope you all enjoy the game and spread the word. Over the next few months, we hope to bring the game to Mac and Linux, and soon we'll announce some release dates for the Playstation Vita and PS3 versions.

What's happenin, internet? It's time for some brand new hot off the press Snapshot news!

Snapshot is coming to the PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network! For more details about this stunning announcement, check out the official PlayStation Blog featuring a post by Dave.

Snapshot work continues as always, and we're still here working on it! Related to the announcement, we've joined forces with Jim Buck from Twitchy Thumbs Entertainment to tackle the task of getting Snapshot on the PlayStation platforms.

To make it super clear for anyone out there wondering, here are the platforms in which you'll be able to find Snapshot on in the next few months or so:

* PlayStation Network
* PlayStation Vita
* Windows PC (Steam, and Direct Sale)

Afterwards, we'll be releasing it on some additional platforms as well.

* Mac OSX
* Linux
* ????

I just also want to say thanks to all of the people out there that have been following Snapshot for the infinity years that it's been in development, and waiting patiently for its release. When we made the decision to go for the PlayStation platforms, we knew that it would be pretty tough and it would add a lot of additional work to the game, but we hope that in the end that it will all be worth it for us, and more importantly our players.

Until next time!

Recently I did an interview with Pixabyte. We talked about the current progress of the game, a bit about the backstory, some of the platforms Snapshot will be on, as well as when you'll be able to play it.

Greetings Internet!

It's been a LONG time since we've had an update... too long. Since the holiday season we've been working away at Snapshot, preparing it for the masses. By this time, my fingers have become one with my keyboard, and I'm pretty sure Kyle as been looking at so much art that Snapshot images are burnt into his eyes.

We want to announce we also have another contributor to the project, Jordan Fehr. You might have heard some of his sounds from games such as: Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Issac, Jamestown, Donkey Kong Country Returns, or Steambirds. Jordan will be creating all the sound effects for Snapshot. Check out his website here!

At the moment, we're mainly working on the PC versions, but we've got some exciting news in the works for all of you who prefer a controller. We really want to announce some release dates, but we just can't yet. Soon!

To show you why the game has been taking a bit longer, with the big shooter releases over the holidays, we've decided to go in a slightly different direction with Snapshot. Let us know what you think of this short gameplay video:

Stay tuned.
