That's right! In a few short days, Retro Affect is off to Vegas to partake in the newest conference on the "block" (get it?).

Though MineCon is centered around the beloved game, Minecraft, they'll be showing some indie love with several presentations and demo stations on the show floor. Come catch us at 9:30PM on Friday in the Indie Theater! We have some special, never-before-seen content for Snapshot that we're excited to show off. See you there!

What an amazing weekend! With a booth on both the 4th and 6th floor of PAX, we certainly had our work cut out for us. Buttons, T-Shirts and wonderful compliments were abound. We're so happy with the feed back on Snapshot and the congratulations from those who have been following us every step of the way. We (and many of you at PAX!) believe we have a great game on our hands that we cannot wait to finish and share with you.

I must say, hearing others describe Snapshot excitedly to their friends was awesome. What was even better was seeing people work together to solve some of the harder levels in the demo (and better still, seeing an eight-year-old blaze through the first half of it)! For those who couldn't make it to PAX, you missed some other amazing indie titles. Make sure you check out Closure and Air Mech. We were thrilled to be alongside both of them.

We're so close to the finish, and every day we're hammering away at our...well, okay, massive To Do list before launch. Keep checking back though! We have some exciting announcements, a second batch of T-Shirts, and the official launch of Snapshot coming up!

With the finish line getting closer by the day, we're unbelievably excited to start sharing that excitement with all of you. We've opened our online store so you too can get your hands on some Snapshot merch!

Not only will you be earning an iconic piece of Snapshot memorabilia, but you'll be supporting our last stretch of development. We're starting with the basics: a few simple, but awesome (simply awesome?) T-Shirts so you can show your Snapshot-love to the world. There are two styles: Snapshot's logo, or an iconic image of Pic front and center in two different colors. Collect all three! We're also pleased to offer high fives for anyone we see wearing one. Our inventory is limited, but we will order more when we're out...so don't cry for too long if your size isn't available. Check it out!

Hey! In case you haven't heard, we're totally in the PAX10 this year! But that's not all -- we also have teamed up with the totally cool dudes making Closure for a super fantastic indie PAX booth! We arranged for this booth to happen well before the PAX10 was announced, so now it looks like we're going to have double Snapshot trouble at PAX this year.

If you're going to be at PAX, this means that you can check out Snapshot at TWO different locations in the expo hall! We're going to be at booth #597 and #599 with Closure, and also at the PAX10... and I don't know what booth number that is, but you should be able to find it. At each location we're going to have a different demo of the game, each with a different set of levels. We're also going to have two different sets of totally awesome buttons to give out at each booth, so if you want to get them all you'll have to track us down at each location.

The official press release for the booth is right here, and I would be eternally grateful along with Pete and Dave (and WiL) if you could spread the word. Also, hopefully very soon we will be announcing some things related to the future of Snapshot... but until then, stay tuned, and I can't wait to see everyone at PAX!

That's right!

You'll be able to play Snapshot at PAX Prime this year along with the other games being recognized in PAX 10. While you're travelling the expo hall during the show, keep an eye out for the PAX 10 booth as well as any Snapshot banners.

We had a blast being in the Boston Indie Showcase at PAX East, and can't wait to show the game off again.

If all goes as planned, Myself (Programming), Peter (Business and Art), Kyle (Art and Design), and WiL (Music) will all be there. Stop by and say hi, or ask us anything about the game.

Hey Everyone!

It's been a while since we've posted anything here, and I just want to throw a real quick update here.

We're hard at work getting more content and code into Snapshot. Last month at E3 we had some great meetings which I'm sure you'll hear about soon. Hopefully you'll soon learn the final platforms that Snapshot with launch on, be able to buy some merchandise, and how you can play the game before it's released!

We can't announce anything quite yet, but be prepared to start hearing lots of great news about Snapshot in the coming weeks.

Wow. After a solid 13 hours of what I like to call "catch-up" sleep, I'm ready to reflect on how amazing of a show PAX East was for us. There was no greater joy then seeing thousands of gamers sit and spend some time with our game. I think it's safe to say that the response was overwhelmingly positive.

Without further adieu, I'd like to share with our patient public our brand new trailer. In it, we have a few clips of the demo we had at PAX East, along with a few more surprises. We hope you enjoy it! And from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for all of your support.

PS If you haven't already, make sure you like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter! We're giving away free t-shirts to some lucky fans this Wednesday!

Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Last week, Kyle and I ventured out west to another great year at the game developers conference. It gave us a chance to catch up with all of our game developing friends, and also a chance to show off all that we've done in the past year. We handed out some buttons, shared some videos and did some impromptu impressions.

Just one week later, I find myself sitting on the expo floor for PAX East, gearing up for what I hope will be a phenomenal conference for us. For the first time since E3 in 2009, we'll have a playable version of Snapshot on the show floor. So if you're going, come check it out! Our table is in the Boston Indie Showcase section near the back of the expo hall. If you come, not only can you play Snapshot but you can snag some exclusive swag.

Don't worry! If you couldn't make it to PAX is year, when we get back we have some surprises for you too. PLUS we're giving away a bunch of awesome tshirts to a bunch of our lucky Facebook Fans and Twitter followers next week.

So if you're coming to PAX we'll see you soon, and if not, come back to retroaffect.com soon!

We have exciting news! Snapshot has been selected for the Boston Indie Showcase at this year's PAX East!

Image

What does that mean? It means that we get to show off some amazing new gameplay. It means that we get to hand out free things. It means anyone at PAX will be able to play the latest version of Snapshot for the first time. Excited yet? If you haven't already, get over to registration right now. I think the three day badges are sold out, but Saturday badges are still available. So, go get one!

In the meantime, here's a short digest for any newcomers to our humble website:

and some Free Music for good measure.

See you in Boston!
